I have a external 2.5” drive enclosure. It is made by Hotway Technology Link Is Password Protected -Removed By {Murf} and called hotdrive mobile 2.5” HDD. Model HD-1 series mobile drive. It was purchased by someone else for me and now when I have gone to install the driver I see it is only for Windows 98SE and my operating system is just Windows 98. So my computer does not recognize the hd. Can I get some other driver from somewhere that will recognize this enclosure?

John

Note: John I edited your post to make it easier to read. Also your link ask's for a password, so I removed. Murf

There are drivers on this page (http://www.hotway.com.tw/download.htm). The site is extremely slow for me so be patient.

Assuming it's a USB drive, check in the BIOS that USB is enabled and also try connecting it to another USB port than the one you've been using.

Also take a look at the Microsoft Knowledge Base article, General USB Troubleshooting in Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;263218).

"It is made by Hotway Technology www.hotway.co.tw (http://www.hotway.co.tw/) and called hotdrive mobile 2.5” HDD. Model HD-1 series mobile drive."
Be careful with posting links: www.hotway.com.tw (http://www.hotway.com.tw)
And as far as I know, if you have Windows 98FE, you will have to rely on 3rd party USB 2.0 support from USB card manufacturer
Thanks,
