.exe files opening in word

When I try load up .exe files it asks me what prgram I want to use.

eg
"Click the program you want to use to open the file 'RUNDLL.EXE'

That happens if I try to get into the system properties by right clicking My Computer and the clicking porperties.

I have checked my computer and run the FixSirc.com file to see if I have the SirCam worm.The results said that no files were found.

Also, somehow all of my .lnk files seem to open with word and they all have the word symbol as their icon.

I've tried to use scanreg /fix and /restore. Although nothing has worked. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Or how to edit the registry if it is related.

Hi plus, go here, scroll down and download FIX-exec.inf. Once downloaded, rightclick on it and choose Install. reboot afterwards and let us know if this helped.

Also go here and download the latest version of Hijack This to a new folder on your drive, unzip it and click on scan. Most of the files listed will be harmless and/or required so do not make any changes, just click on Save Log, copy it and post it back in this thread.
