Hello,

I need help getting my win98 computer running again.

It started with the 'invalid system disk' challenge so I ran the boot disk

Now I get a flash of the windows start up screen then it drops to a c: prompt.

when I cd\windows, then win it does not find HIMEM.SYS.

copied the himem file from startup disk to no avail.

Any suggestions will help greatly, or even a redirect to another post

Thank You,

ritual

I wonder if I should try to reinstall windows?

Will I lose all of my information?
when I boot I get the three options with or w/o cd support
the machine will not boot into safe mode, just drops to the c: prompt
Can I get a generic config.sys file from some where?

Thanks
