Computer not getting an IP from router?

Im desperate now, I just got World of Warcraft The problem is though, no internet!(yeah i was tempted). Ive posted this several times and it hasnt been solved yet, so I'm going to try again and hopefully I get this thing working

Somethings that you might want to know

-Im using a Linksys router

-The problem PC connected to the router isn't getting an IP, but the computer im using right now is also connected to the router is working just fine

-The problem PC did work a while ago just fine, but now...its gone

-The internet went down when I was blasted by pop-ups, and then blasted by "inetkw.dll" errors

-I tried the "Repair" option on Network Connections, it gives an error saying "Renewing the IP address"

-The address type should be "Assigned by DHCP" but instead, it is "Automatic IP Address"

-If theres anything else you need to know, ask

Thanks in advance, Im hoping to get on World of Warcraft soon. Ive been trying to fix this thing for months

You may be suffering from the after effects of being spywear'ed up. If you're system is totally clean now then you may need to fix some internet related things. Its hard to pin point just what is wrong and depending on what operating system you are running you can try a few things. If it were me I would post in the Cyber Safety forum with something like "Getting back online after spywear". Those folks know alot about what heaps of spywear can break as far as browsers and such go. I have used an app called LSP fix in the past to solve some issues. That app can be found here http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm give that a try for now and post back. Hang in there and we will get you some help

thanks for the fast reply.

Ive used ad-aware, spybot search & destroy, norton anti-virus, and the cleaner, so im pretty sure there isnt much, or any left in it

Ill try LSP Fix once my computers cd-burning will start working and im using WinXP.

Thanks again, Ill try posting there

Thanks for the help.

I went to the LAN Settings, and looked under activity and the packets are something like

Sent - 1068
Recieved - 801

Its still not back online, but those numbers are rising, VERY SLOWLY I might add, the computer right now has the Sent/Recieved stuff in the 25,000-30,000's, so Im worried that it will take a LONG time for the packets to go up, if their numbers matter at all? Any reasons or solutions to this?
