I put this here becaue it happened after install of the wireless wrouter. Mods move as needed.

Installed the wireless router yesterday (Linksys Wireless G) got it configured and working almost perfectly. Except for a couple websites that just won't connect. www.ebay.com (http://www.ebay.com) and www.qvc.com (http://www.qvc.com)

After a minute or two of trying to connnect to ebay, Firefox just says- "the document contains no data." With qvc, it just keeps trying to connect for ever. I've left it for 2-3+ hours and nothing. Same with Internet Explorer. This happens on both the desktop, which is connected with a cable to the switch on the router, and the laptop which is connected wireless. Is there something I'm missing in the routers setup/config screens that will fix this? I'm not 100% sure that the router is the cause of this, but since it happened right after I hooked it up, it's all I have to go on.:dizzy:

I believe this may be due to the fact that most secure sites use different port ranges. Knowing what model router you have will help. Check the bottom of the Router for the model and version number, and post back. With this info we can tell you if you need to do any port forwarding or the fix may be as simple as a firmwear upgrade.

I almost forgot about this post...

I called Linksys Tech support with the problem. The tech had me change "MTU" to "manual" and change the size to "1350". Everything works fine now.

Thanks again.

On a side note, What is MTU? And why did changing it fix the problem?

It seems that if the MTU is too high, meaning that it is sending too much data in a packet and the Firewall blocks the connection and drops the packet.
