instant access problem

hi i'm working on my daughters laptop. she had alot of spyware in her computer its a laptop. i installed adaware6se 1.05 version and it found 167 pieces of spyware and 4 trojans. adaware was able to quarrentine them all.
i restarted the laptop everything was fine so i deleted the quarrentine cause her kids mess around too much and may have restored it so i deleted the quarrentine. most everything in the list was from iwon .
then we noticed when the computer booted back up that by the clock is a space like a icon should be there. between her sound icon and power icon for battery or ac. when you hold the mouse at the empty spot it says instant access. when i right click on it it says configure or hide. so i opened configure. it opens a blank page in program files and its blank.
in msconfig everything there to start up is right. synapsis (mouse) norton av, modem but rundll32 is also listed.
anyways my question is how to i stop the instant access? evidently adaware didnt get rid of all of it that is there invisible by the clock. can someone help please. thank you in advance. any help would be appreciated very much.

also she is running windows 2000 professional service pack 4 on a compaq laptop. it is a clean install of windows 2000 i did a year ago. so it doesnt have any of the compaq stuff it came with windows me. the specifications you see below are for my computer. if you need more specs on her laptop i can get them and post them. all windows updates are current and norton 2002 is up to date.
just wanted to clarify that. thanks any help on the instant access would be appreciated.

Hi,

You may want to run a Registry Cleaner such as Ace Utilities incase there are remnants of old programs.
