My CD Drive has disappeared. It is not seen in Windows Explorers or in Device Manager. I haven't added any new hardware or software. What do I do now?

Welcome to CTH lablover. Try the CDGONE patch here (http://aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip). There is a readme inside the zipped file with full instructions. Reboot afterwards and let us know if this helped.

You are awesome! It worked and I am so thankful. I will be back with the other annoying things that keep happening on my computer because there is proof in this "puddin" that your support helps! Thanks again!

Logged on today and the drive is missing again. Nowhere to be found. Do I use the patch again? What now? Lablover

Yes, run the patch again and reboot.
If this happens again, we need to find out why the drive keeps disappearing. Have you recently uninstalled Nero, Easy CD Creator or similar?
Also go here (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/download.php?hijackthis1977.zip) and download the latest version of Hijack This to a new folder on your drive, unzip it and click on scan. Most of the files listed will be harmless and/or required so do not make any changes, just click on Save Log, copy it and post it back in this thread.
