Hi
ive been running around in circles!!
i need to find the IP address of a Linksys wap54g that was installed a year ago. ive been told that i need to add the mac address of a pc for it to have full access to the domain.
ive tried connecting a cable from the AP to a machine and ran from the command promt arp -a but no arp entries where found.
Can anyone help

If you open a command prompt and use IPCONFIG it should give the Default Gateway, which should be the Router IP.
Else you can Reset the Router which will restore the factory defaults.

it showed no gateway. when i click on wireless network connection status and the support tab, it states 'invalid ip address' where it should say 'assigned by DHCP' however DHCP has been enabled on the pc!!! im lost. this does not happen for other pcs that are using the AP.
Thanks for your continued help.

Why not login to the Router on one of the other PCs?

only 1 pc uses the router, i cant use another pc because the mac address would have to be added to gain access and i dont know the ip to add it. but my other problem is that when i try to connect the pc to another router i recieve the same eror 'invalid ip address'!!! DHCP has been enabled but for some reason to pc is not getting an ip address.
Thanks

You may have to reset the router to restore the factory defaults.

You restore factory settings by using the Reset button on the Router.

The default IP for the access point is 192.168.1.245. You may want to try that before your factory reset, however you will still need a password to get in.
This is from the linksys user's manual
Open your web browser and type the IP Address you entered in the Setup Wizard. (The default IP address is
192.168.1.245.) (Should you need to learn what IP Address the Access Point presently uses, run the Setup Wizard
again. It will scan the Access Point and give you its IP Address.) Press the Enter key and the following screen will
appear. Leave the User Name field blank. The first time you open the Web-Based Utility, use the default password
admin. You can set a new password from the Password tab.
