I am trying to set up a wireless network at home through a netgear router, the internet is fine, both machines, my desktop (win2000) and my laptop (XP Pro) work great through the router for internet access, but where do i go next to setup so i can use printers and share files etc...

I have changed the file and printers as being shared but when i view entire network i see nothing, think i must be missing the big picture, please help somebody.

What shows in Network Places?

the firewall on the router is working, and the only thing in network places showing is my works network.

YOu will need to either disable the firewall on the ICF on XP or if you have SP2 configure it to allow file and print sharing. Once you have this working you should see the other machines via net neighborhood. Now all you have to do is to share out the dirs and printers you want to be seen. I would put them all in the same workgroup name too just to make it simple. Check that, just reread your post, your work machine is probably a domain member so leave it as is. Your IT guys will not be please if you change it to a workgroup.

did you map to the printer? i find that to be a re-occuring problem
