Outlook Express.compacted folders

My OE6 s/w is loading very slowly. As my OE6 inbox has many individual files,I decided to compact some of the folders, to see if it would speed things up.
I now have the folders stored deep inside Windows (I know where they are), but I can't figure out how to import them back into OE. The 'import' option only seems to cover moving mail from another email client. Can someone help? Thanks

hi nancy

here's one way but there may be an easier way.
open outlook express
click on "file" then go to "folder"
click on "new"
type in a name for the new folder and click "ok"
your new folder should now show in OE
click on it to open it then close OE.
go to start , find, files and folders
type outlook to find the OE folder
open the folder and you will see the new folder you just created .
now find the folder that you saved and rename it the same as the one in the OE folder.
drag and drop the renamed file into the OE folder and when it asks you if you want to replace one with the other click "yes"
now open OE and you should have access to your files.

sounds like a lot but it really isn't.

good luck
