my freind has a compaq presario 5700t 500mgz 196 ram 13 g harddrive.stock he tried to do somthing or another and it started to only boot to command prompt. i tried to install windows 98 again but it wouldonly let me load set up to a new directory. icould not access his old files. in windows. so i uninstalled windows 98. got a 80 gig hdd. installed xp pro it runs great it sees the old hdd as a slave connection it sees both windows directories. all of the folders but there is nothing in them.help can i recover.
