NERO Burning ROM

I purchased Nero Burning (version 5.5.10.56 bundled) a little over a year ago. Recently I have been having problems with burning an audio CD. I go through all my usual steps but when it says its burning, it's not. I can usually hear it being burned & the light on the burner is green. Then when it says it's complete, my CD is blank & is also garbage because it wont let me use the same CD to burn another.

I read on another post that I should try to upgrade on the NERO website. I did that, but now, when I try to burn it says: MEMOREX 40EMAX 2440AJ, Medium is not writable. I cant get any further then that. It seems worse then before.

Please help, I'm losing my mind. How nice it would be to burn Christmas music !! =)

Have you tried different CD's?
Does the Drive read CD's ok?
