AIM continually crashing (aol instant messenger)

hey guys. i'm new here. i'm really having problems with my aim (aol instant messenger). Sometimes when i receive instant messages the message screws up n crashes my aim. Theres no pattern to it either. At least none that i can find. if any of you could tell me some reasons that this is happening that would be great.

Is this a new version of the program that you have installed, or is it one you've been using for a while?

When you get a message or try to IM someone does it give you the Illegal operation message? Thats what I get.Look down at my thread at the bottom of this page. I was looking for an older version of AIM in hopes that it would work.But I have had no luck.

i have the newest version of AIM. and like AOL is a bunch of lazy people so they dont do nething to try n help me cus their tech support is terrible. So i came here in hopes that one of you could have the answer to my problem.

Have you had this problem ever since upgrading to the new version, or was it working okay up untill a certain point?

Like with a great many program upgrades, they tend to have bugs that need to be fixed.

im pretty sure its been since upgrade. but no one i know has this problem with the new version.
