Adaware SE freezes when scanning

Hello,

Ran Adaware SE today and about a min into scanning it just freezes, do ctrl-alt-del, Adaware SE is not responding. I ran it alright last week but for some reason its keeps 'not responding'. Any clues for this?

Thought bout uninstalling it and reinstalling it again and see if it works that way....

Hi David, have you tried running it in Safe Mode?

Didn't think of that, so I just tried it and it still froze, it only freezes when scanning registry. I tried a scan without scanning registry and it worked fine.

Hi David, I checked on the Lavasoft site and a number of users are experiencing this problem. I see that they are recommending some basic maintenance in these cases and it seems to be working. Try running Disk Cleanup first and then delete all Temporary Internet Files. Finally run a scandisk (if Win98/ME) and then defrag and see if this helps. Try both normal and Safe Mode.

Done all and it works, well in normal haven't tried safe mode but im guessing its gonna work, thank you :wave:
