Lost Folder in Outlok Express

Just discovered that one of my folders under Inbox has disappeared.

When I check my hard drive the folder still exists in the Store Folder with the date correct as to when I last place a message there.

How can I get the folder back please?

Hi chris18,

It sounds like you accidentally drag n' dropped it into
another folder in Outlook. This happens a lot, there is
a hair-trigger on the DnD in Outlook

Look in the other folders...it should be there somewhere.

hi chris18

if the folder in question was under "inbox" then i assume it's one that you created yourself. try this........

open the folder where the OE file is stored.
copy and paste the file to your desktop (just so you have a copy of it in case this doesn't work).
open OE
click ctrl+shift+E
enter the name of the folder
click "ok"
you should now see the folder under inbox again
click on it to open it and see if your messages are there.
if they are then you're all set and you can delete the copy on your desktop.
if not , then close OE and open the folder where OE is stored and copy and paste the desktop file to the OE folder (make sure the names are EXACTLY the same first. it should ask you if you want to replace one with the other - click YES.
now open OE and your messages should be there.

Hi Spider and Mr1drful thanks for the replies. Spider, I have checked all the folders just in case I had moved it by mistake but no joy.

Mr1drful, will try as you suggest. Funny I was only thining this morning whether what you suggest might work. I'll give it a try.

Pleased to say my "missing" folder has been restored. Had to do some playing around with file names but go there in the end.

Thanks for the help.
