how to create an image in Illustrator 8. I don't care how easy you say it is to use....IT'S NOT! Even my professor in Photoshop said he thinks it's confusing...everything is done differently. It's not user friendly...it's a great program, but way different from Photoshop. Anyway, I did finally manage to create something....nothing big, and not great...but, here it is....

What do you mean? Illustrator is easy!!! LOL
I never said it was similar to Photoshop.. in fact I think I said it was different but you can do some similar stuff. That's all.
Illustrator 9 is closer to Photoshop in some aspects though.
For a first shot I think that's real good for Illustrator! Why don't you like it?

Well, that's how I remember you saying it! lol
I just don't care for the colors in the flower...I may change them in photoshop.

No.. you can do everything in Illustrator. then just export it to a gif if you want. Just go to File > Export.
—————
I know you have Illustrator 8 but.... to clearify....
Illustrator 9 has a "save for Web" option just like Photoshop 5.5
Photoshop 6 has a great many new vector tools like Illustrator..... I guess what I'm really saying is that it doesn't matter what you use as long as you are comfortable with it. I really, really like Illustrator always have. But up until recently there were a lot of things that Illustrator did and Photoshop couldn't and vice versa... that's not really the case too much anymore. If you prefer Photoshop.. maybe Photoshop 6 is something to look into?
