Any one have any ideas on where I should put all my gifs and photos.
My ISP road runner will give me 10 megs for a web page but they wont allow any linking and they have tons of rules on what you can do and more on what you cant do, I searched for free albums sites, but it seems they are all for autions now and dont want you to use it for storage.
So that leaves free web sites but they dont want you to use them for storage either, you need a web page with some sort of script on it.
So any one with ideas

I've used www.xoasis.com (http://www.xoasis.com) which is a free web space provider, which is in fact very well featured, the only real downside being the popup adverts.
There doesn't appear to be any limitations on remote linking in their TOS.
You get 20Mb of space.

Steven - do you have to create a webpage before they will allow remote linking?

http://www.photopoint.com
The only downside is have a small bar on the top of your images that says "www.photopoint.com".

Irons, I'm using roadrunner, and most of the images I use are linked from there!!
I decided to start using that, simply because it seems pointless using other places, only to find that they are closing or will start charging.
My way of thinking is the the free 10mb's that Mediaone offers, is yours to do what you like, within reason, and that includes linking.

iron and lufbra , I wish I could have RR but don't..... *sigh*
From what I've read on different BBS RR has worked for most on image linking BUT like iron said ..... I have also read about some folks getting nailed doing it. One post, the person stated that he/she was told to stop or be cut off. Who knows how much truth there was in that statement ??? Ya never know. I'm allowed I believe 6 mbs with my isp but my thoughts are why put all your cookies in the same basket.

I'm not sure I understand that idea of cutting someone off from, using Roadrunner to link host, I know you mention Bill, that you don't know how true it is, but surely you are paying for the service anyway, and part of that service is 10mb's of free space, any more used, you pay extra.
I have maybe 15 images so far uploaded onto my Roadrunner web space, been there for more than three weeks, been used many times on boards, never had a threatening e-mail yet!! :D :D :D
Iron's, just give it a try, you have nothing to lose, have ya dude!!!

How do you copy the image's URL from photopoint in order to link it to a discussion board? I have got as far as uploading an image to the site, but when I try to get the URL (by right-clicking on the image and looking under Properties) all I see is the start of photopoint's URL, then a whole string of numbers - no .gif or .jpg at the end that would actually indicate I was linking to an image.
Or am I missing something?

Hi Iron. I sighed up with Dreamwater a long time back. I am not sure why I didn't like them but here's a guess. I think they give you a very short amount of time to *check-in*. Most free host give you 30 - 45 -60 days to *check-in*. If you don't they delete your account to make room for someone else. Like I said "dreamwater" has something like 10 or 14 days ? I could be off on this but hey I'm a off type of person. <grin> hush Dave.
Actually once I read your post,I forgot all about my dreamwater account and jetted over there
to see whats up at DW ...... I'm history!! <smile> They tossed my accound in the alley trash can.

Hello bill
I checked before I signed up they now give you 30 days or they delete your account, Im just not sure about uploading my pictures to there site, so for I have to use there templets and it will only allow 3 pictures at a time, I have a lot to learn yet before I can use html.

Iron I think dreamwater doesn't allow "hotlinking". Maybe that's why I iqnored them.
