Can someone give me a primer and maybe some links to freeware/shareware that would help me to work with gifs? There are some times that I would like to be able to you know edit them. I do have infraview which lets me take apart the frames but that is about as far as I got with it. I have MGI photosuite but it ruins the motion of gifs if you edit them.
here is an example of a gif 12.5k<IMG SRC="http://tram2dotcom.bizland.com/train.gif" border=0>
and this is what Bill did to it 5k<IMG SRC="http://tram2dotcom.bizland.com/train1.gif" border=0> I have no idea how or what he used.
I asked how to shorten the gif and also I want to slow it down a bit and smooth it out.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hey Tram,
Think of gifs as seperate frames. The more frames the smoother the animation, however the larger the file size. The trick is to get your point accross the simplest way.
I don't know the software Iron suggested or what you already have, so I'm really not sure where to tell you to start and how to control the speed (timeline).

Tried to find that Herb, and I have had no luck. What is the exact name of the program that you use? A search of GIF returns 2 hits. http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/frown.gif
