How to know a graphic size........

65k I believe is the limit here, right (no: edit, I'm not sure what the limit is, I will write it down though right away) -but I know it's a generous one. Okay but I'm so pitiful, if my properties say something is 13359 bytes, 198 x 282 pixels, how do I take that and figure out if it's over or under the size limit? Thank you!

13359b = about 13k

Basically
1034 bytes = 1k
1034k = 1 mb
and so on.

The limit is 8k and that may have to be reduced soon as my bandwidth for this site is going through the roof.
