Rate the new design of my site 1 to 10, 10 being the best. It is a video game site and the sample site address is http://www16.brinkster.com/videogames2k1/index2.htm

The layout is good, the only problem I have is the use of png files, which some current browsers (AOL 5.0 for Mac being one) doesn't like.
OK, so AOL 5 is in fact IE4 which isn't current, but you get my point :D

Hey,
I liked the site layout.
But I would try to optimise the graphics a bit. Both the top graphic and the center graphic come to about 120Kb which is a long download for 56kers.
I'd give it a 7
Would be higher if the graphics loaded quicker :)

Because I'm on a DSL so the page loaded quickly. :)
I agree with Steven on the png files, it all depends on how usable you want your site to be.
Nice job.

Well the site is open now, I made some adjustments like changing the PNG's in JPEG's and added a crappy splash page. Check it out at http://videogames2k.cjb.net

nice job. you are right though, the splash could be a bit better. Why isn't the animation a link to enter the site?
FYI on the actual home page when one enters, your text legend that explains the color coding is way off the average users monitor, so they will pretty much have the color coding figured out before they ever see the legend.

Well, its on of my first Flash Animations so give me a break. Also, what do you mean the key is way off the the aver. users monitor, the colors or where it's positioned?

Just the color legend is about ???? 900 pixels down on the page. The average monitor will only see the first 550 pixels when the page loads. So, although the color key is helpful as a quick reference and it's a great idea. No one will really get the benefit of it because of where you've placed it on the page.
It all looks great. I didn't mean there were any display problems. Just perhaps a layout issue.
