I was told that I should clear out my cashe every so often. What is it and how do I do that?

what cache are you talking about? If from msie, you can use a third party utilitie that can be found at download.com, in msie you can delete under tools, or you can do a disk cleanup under system tools.

Hi jdunn
I guess that your advisor is talking about your temporary internet files. If you use IE click on Tools/Internet Options/General/Delete Files. With other browsers the cache is located in other places. Ask if you need help.
Clearing cached files is only of use if loading internet pages has become very slow. And even then there may be other reasons for this.
Ask your informant why he gave you this advice, and if you actually have a problem, it might be better to give the details here and we may be able to take you down a better track. BF

Thanks for the tip. I didn't have a problem but wanted to "tune up" my computer and make it run faster

If you're using WindowsXP, search for a folder called Prefetch. You can dump the contents.
