Hi Guys, hope you had a good xmas one and all.
This problem just started and I can't figure it out.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v341/keithy397/Links/javaballs.jpg
I've also had a plain page and in bold letters Error 505.
I got w2k pro - Firefox 1.0 Moox M1. Java(TM) Platform ver 1.5.0
It has only just started happening and so far seems confined to FF, but there's where I do most of my browsing anyway.
Duh?! Any help/advice much appreciated.

Does it happen on all sites?
Have you tried reinstalling Java?

Yeah Degs, all sites. I've just done a clean wipe and reinstall but the problem is still here now and again, even after visiting the Java Technology Help (http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.jsp
) site too. It sometimes misses text from alerts and warnings etc.
I'll see what happens after I've eaten.
Cheers

Anyone got any ideas??
Now, if I try to visit the sun help page (link in above post) it freezes FF and sometimes crashes it, and it's really a pain in the you know where now.

It crossed my mind Degs, now you've made the suggestion I'll re-install FF and do a clean removal of Java and re-install that too.
Later............

You may also want to clear the cache and check the cookie settings.

Just an update:-
- Did a clean sweep of Java (deleted all files in Doc's & Settings/UserName/App Data/Sun*.* as well as removing Java via Add/Remove),
- downloaded FF ver 1.0,
- cleaned registry of waifs & strays,
- cleared cookies and cache
- removed previous version of FF ver 1.0 via Add/Remove
- defragged
- installed FF ver 1.0
- installed Java 1.5.0 on line
and it appears to be working fine. I haven't had the problems I was having before on pages I previously did.
So, is there somewhere I can check this Java friend of mine out as a final test of working order?
Cheers,

This site uses javascript.
It uses it in the dropdown menus and in the message box (if you have the wysiwyg mode)

Sorry about late response Degs.
Everything is fine now cheers, but I thought I'd resurrect this to leave a couple of links for sites I have come across whilst having the Java Script problems.
This site (http://tinyurl.com/3b3sr)tests your Java performance but this site (http://tinyurl.com/4o3t4)is far more interesting. It checks the Java Script speed on a OS/speed choice type level and you can compare different browsers too!
Interesting reading!!
Cheers
