Hi,
I'm really desperate for help right now. I have recently bought a pc with this spec :
Pentium 3 800Mhz
128 MB of RAM (PCDIMM) 100 Mhz
Intel D815EEA m/b with built in graphic card and sound card (Creative Labs* SoundBlaster* PCI 128 Audio)
20GB hard disk ( Quantum Fireball) (5400 RPM)
52x CD Rom.
The problem is this :
My pc likes to shut power off on it's own. It usually happens while i was playing games . I seem to notice that it loves to shut power off whenever i do anything that use a lot of the cpu power. For example, when i use Adobe's photoshop's fill with color option where it will fill the background color of a picture, the computer tends to shut down the power . But when i open the casing to check inside , i see that the cpu's cooling fan is still running and the small indicator on the motherboard shows that it still has power. The power indicator on the keyboard also shows that it still has power . But there was nothing on the monitor and the monitor light is blinking. But the power indicator on the cpu casing shows that the hard disk is not running and there's no power to the hard disk. If i didn't open the casing to check inside, i would have thought that the computer has shutdown on its own. I even send the whole computer to the vendor and they don't even know why it's behaving like this. They even changed all the parts !!! I have tried using other hard disk and it still has the same problem !!! at first i thought it was the processor, at first when i bought it, it was 733Mhz, but with the new 800Mhz, it still face the same problem . The vendor even changed a new motherboard for me but still the same !!! Everything in there has been changed. Even the casing has been changed because i thought it was the mischief of the shutdown button on the casing. Memory, cd rom and cables also has been changed !!!!. i have even formatted the hard disk !! and tried different OS . I have tried Windows 98 and Windows ME and still the same !!!. This is driving me nuts !!! Please help me . What could be the problem ???
oh yeah..i have change the power option in the control panel to never shutdown .
