Does anyone know of a good DOS tech site? A friend dropped of a PC that has DOS 6.2 installed. It (The machine and the O/S) are dinosaurs but he wants it to remain a DOS machine. When booting I get some 3 digit numbers (161 and 165) followed by two beeps and then to the Hit F1 to continue screen. I am looking to find the meaning of the 161 and 165 as well as the two beeps.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thans.

http://www3.sympatico.ca/rhwatson/dos7/index.html but I doubt the problem has to do with DOS, they are BIOS related error messages.

Thanks, Herb. The more I though about it after the post, you are right. These are bios related errors. And I don't have too much of a chance to fix that.
Thanks for the site. I bookmared it for further reference.

Thanks to both of you for your help.
Went to both sites and then a little more research on IBM's site. Low and behold, the CMOS battery is dead and is causing all of the other problems. Unfortunately for the owner of this PC the battery is soldered in place. Time to invest in a new machine anyway.
THanks again
