I installed the WOW client on my computer the other day, I watched the cinematic scene without any problems sound wise, so I later started using some of the Tweaks posted in the "All XP users read this!" thread. Went through a couple of them and got them to work fairly well. When I was done I started play WOW again and now my speakers make a crackling sound like putting a plastic spoon in a fan, when I listen to the music watch the cinematic scenes. Help if you can.
Update-
The crackling sound only happens when I move the mouse, iif I keep it still after the game loads the music is fine, if I move it after the game loads it sounds scratchy and stays that way.

This is their latest info on what might be my problem.
Stuttering movement issue We have received some reports of customers having issues with "stuttering movement" in World of Warcraft. We are currently investigating the issue to find a solution. In the mean time we have found temporarily turning off Hardware Cursor helps with the issue. You can do this by going into the Video Options and unchecking the Hardware Cursor box. Thank you for taking the time to help us identify and resolve issues such as this. My question is how do I find my video options on my OS which is WinXP.

I found out the answer to my problem. It was my graphics card, for some reason nVIDIA Geforce FX 5200 has compatiblity problems with WoW, so I just installed my old card, nVIDA GeForce2 MX/MX 400, all my problems evaporated away. Maybe someone could find this useful.:hmm:

Ever time I try to install WoW it stops on the first disk giving me this mesg.
The installer was unable to read the file "<unknown>". This error may be caused by problems with the media or drive at --for example, a scratched or dirty CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, hard drive corruption, or a networking problem while downloading the installer. (The data being read was "Repack-MPQ\Data#terrain.MPQ\World\Maps\Kalimdor\Kalimdor_ 36_48.adt", and the error code was 38.) If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (MPQFile::Read)
If anyone knows whats up with this and could help that would be great.:disgust: :disgust: :

Yeah I know what's up with this!
You just have to be patient enough and try it again and again. I know it seems dumb, but my first fw installs went allright, then I started to have theses kinds of errors, and I tried many, many different tactics to go around it.
The only one that works fast enough is trying over and over to install it.
I hope it helps you from being discouraged!
