I installed (or tried to) a Logitech wireless mouse on a client's 3 year old Gateway computer - when I rebooted the keyboard and mouse were not detected - after several rebootings the computer finally went into safe mode - keyboard and mouse detected then. So I rebooted and once again in normal mode no keyboard and no mouse. So I rebooted serveral times again - no luck, but it did go into safe mode again and the mouse and keyboard are recognized. I left it that way over night and have to return this morning to try and fix. Any suggestions?

Hello docmary
Welcome to CTH
that means you dont have the right drivers installed,When your in safe mode your running default drivers for the mouse and keyboard, if you installed drivers delete the drivers you installed and let windows install default drivers until you get the right drivers, you should of got the drivers with the mouse and keyboard,if not give me the version of mouse and keyboard and I will see if I can find them for you.

I tried it and it worked! I won't bother installing the Logitech - leave well enough alone. Hey thanks so much!

Mary, there is a program at the gateway web site called GatewayUpdater.. download and install it. It puts a shortcut in your Start menu, all you have to do is click it. It then scans your computer, tells you what you need to update and gives you the option of downloading and installing yourself, or auto download and install. Very efficient and a must for any Gateway owner.
