Does anyone know of a web page that tells you what the things are that load when you startup? What's safe to disable? I used to have a page that did, but lost it when I reformated. I have Startup Cop, but I'm just not positive about everything. If anyone has any idea about this, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Tami

Hi ya Mishy!

LoadPowerProfile-?
SchedulingAgent-I know I can turn this off
StateMgr-if I decide to disable system restore it will turn this off
TrueVector-zone alarm, I want
MiniLog-ditto
hpfsched-something to do with the printer?
ScanRegistry-?
TaskMonitor-I think I can turn this off too
SystemTray-stays
Configsafe-stays
AEZBProc-something to do with IBM?
Adaptec DirectCD-I know I can turn this off
PCHealth-?
LoadPowerProfile-?
ICQ-I want
ZoneAlarm-I want
Reminder-I can turn this off
HawkEye IV Control Panel-another I can turn off

I'm running WindowsME now so some of those things, I'm sure have something to do with it. Like the system restore thing and PCHealth, although I don't know what that is yet. If it's something I can at least diable from the startup list? If it can be opened in Programs then I'm assuming it doesn't need to load at startup, right?

Thanks,
Tami

Hi Tammy,

Both the loadpowerprofiles ya should keep.
Scanregistry you should also keep.

Both of those are to do with windows and you should really keep.

Scheduling agent you can turn off in the program itself.

I'm going to move your topic to ME because I haven't used ME so I'll ask our ME experts to help you with the other few http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif
