Roll back date when system was working properly

I have Windows 98SE.

Yesterday I downloaded an IE Update and now I am getting an error message that shuts down IE. I'd like to go back to BEFORE I downloaded this menacing update.

I need to change the date INSIDE to a date when my computer was working properly.

How do I do this?

Howdy:

Sorry, but Win98SE doesn't have the system restore option.. All you can do is a scanreg /restore through a DOS prompt and all that does is retore the registry to a date not more than 5 days ago..
