I have just replaced my old PC with a new one which has an AMD Semperon 220 chip on a Foxconn K7S741MG-ES motherboard (onboard graphics and sound)with 256MB Ram.

I have re-installed Windows 98SE which went fine, but I had alot of trouble intsalling the drivers for the motherboard. Every time I ran the motherboard's setup CD, the hardware wizard kicked-in and tried to take over. Also, the CDROM drive, on occasions, refused to open to allow me to put the Windows CD in!

Anway, the final instal works fine execpt that when I boot-up I do not see the motherboard's opening screen (Winmap or something?) but get error messages concenring Vnetsup.vxcl, Vredir.vxd and vfs.vxd. Once I get past these messages I am told that the PC is unable to load dynamic link library as msnp32.dll cannot be found. Windows then loads and runs normally.

I do not want to start-over but need the PC to be reliable. What do I have to do to get rid of these messages?

Thanks in anticipation.

Chris

PS: Why do I not see the motherboards opening screen (the one which says press Del to enter BIOS)?

PPS: Why should the CDROM drive not eject a CD when the system is idle - it just continues to spin full speed?
