hey all, long time reader, first time poster.
I'm running windows 98SE, and lately I've really been having some problems with it.
It seems every program i run, it'll run for less than 5 minutes, and it'll perform an illegal operation. And this is with any program...opera, limewire, anything!! I've taken good advice and downloaded adaware and spybot to try and cure this, but again, those programs will only run a quarter of a scan, and the dreaded blue screen pops up, i hit enter, blue screen again, hit enter again, then back to my desktop with no program.
Also, i always get the Explorer illegal operation errors too, and i'm forced to manually shut down my computer, and when i boot back up, it wont, and sometimes it'll take close to 10 boot-ups to finally get a fresh desktop, then when i try and go into my computer or documents, as soon as i click any icon, boom, "explorer has performed an illegal operation."
I have Norton, so i definitely ran that program as a last resort, but to no avail.......blue screen.
Im starting to feel stranded now that i can't even run anti-virus scans.
I know this post isn't very specific, but with your help and questions, i think that maybe we can keep pinpointing problems and figure this one out
