Unhappy popcorn kernel

Have a slow Win98se computer I use as an extra, I want to add a 20 gb EIDE hard drive as a slave, after setting the jumpers, what steps are to be taken to complete installation. Hard to be computer illiterate

You may also need to change the jumpers on the other drive. Sometimes there is a different setting between Single and Master with Slave present. You may have to go into bios and let it detect the drive. If the drive has not been partitioned or formatted, you will need to do that also.

Also, on a double IDE cable (an IDE cable with 3-connectors - 1 for the motherboard and 2 for drives), be sure the Master drive is connected on the end of the cable and the slave drive in the middle between the Master and the motherboard.
