I am working on an AMD K6-2/350 system for my sister. A "repair" person pulled her DIMMS to see what she needed to update her memory. When he put the memory back in, she no longer got output to her monitor. He replaced the power supply (we knew the fan was bad) and got the same results. He then tried a different AGP video card. Same results. Any future diagnostics were going to cost big time, so she brought the machine to me.

I have removed all un-necessary cards. Swapped the AGP Video card for an ISA video card. I removed and reseated both DIMMS. I tried the DIMMS one at a time. All of this brought the same results. I do not know what to check from here.

Could`ve shorted something, what`s the problem exactly, no output to the monitor?

This can be easily checked by anyone with a multimeter who knows whereabouts to look...you`re gonna need someone to help unless you are sure.

A very real possibility here is the the motherboard has been damaged by excessive force being used to re install the ram.
Also the board could be OK but it might now be shorting against the case.
Can you remove the motherboard and reseat it?
