I sure get PM'd a lot. All of them from newly signed up members.
Always a sense of urgency and almost always their post is void of any useful information
to get an idea where to start. First thing that popped into my mind was to disable PM but
then I wouldn't receive the PMs I want.
Any way to keep PMs from new members until they post say 15 threads? I'm sure I'm not
the only one receiving these PMs from 1 and 2 post members.
It feels like spam.

Sounds like a good idea, hopefully the BOSS will see this. :)

Just looked at the vb3 settings and it doesn't look as though you can set a limit or restiction for member levels.
You can completely disable PMs for a User Group, but that would mean having to update users manually to different users groups and it's not feasable with a forum of this size.

Thanks degsy.
I'll just point them to this thread instead and hopefully they will post in the forums
where the multitude of techs are viewing thus giving them a higher percentage of
obtaining a fix.

I was just thinkin' maybe if I go invisible? I didn't really have a need to be invisible before
but maybe they are putting together that your online and a responder. If I'm invisible this
may stop a few of them.

It works, when I changed my setting to invisible, pms were cut drastically.

Here's the latest PM I got, it's from s'MPdnest'nodI
Dear Lufbra.
Can ya please tell that eight legged wonder, Spider, to stop nagging about PM's?
It's clear he's just bragging cos he's getting a lot of attention.
By the way Lufbra, next time that AnnMarie or Jaytee tries to swipe a beer from yyour stash, I'll get 'em for ya's.

No one PM's me. The trick is just don't help anyone enough to where they single you out as a good source of help. Try and blend in, agree with others a lot so that others get the PM's. :D :rotflmao:
