What's up with this new(?) thread opening?

I open any thread and only get initiator with options to open comments/responses.
Is this permanent? I don't like it.
Is a 'show all' option possible?

Sorry. Just found Display Modes. Mine was switched somehow to threaded mode rather than linear mode.
Just never seen that before. I caught that while in left field.
