Hey! I have an external hard drive partitioned for FAT32 at 15GB, and NTFS at 145GB. I want to install Windows 98 onto it. My internal hdd is Windows XP, my CPU is p4 @ 2.3ghz and i have 256 RAM. My BIOS settings do support booting from a USB drive, so that's not the prob. i installed DOS file systems onto it and booted into DOS successfully. i ran setup from my Windows 98 CD and setup initialized. i went through the setup and when it said that all files have been copied and that its ready to be restarted, i restart. when it restarts, i get the familiar screen 'Launching Windows for the First Time.' I get back into setup (so far so good). It starts building the driver database. Then it starts installing plug and play drivers. then...BAM! one of those annoying blue screens- an error at OE. I tried doing this over and over, same response. My guess is that the drivers for the hdd aren't installed, and now that it realized this, it can't continue...? please help me to fix this prob. also, tell me if that mite not b it. thanks in advance!

ADD TO THIS: I now know that it IS the driver missing, because there was an error in the registry, so i fixed that. now wat i need help is installing the driver. the driver from the company (acomdata) is on their website. when i try to install it from my XP os (can't open windows 98 yet) it automatically installs it to c: (which is XP now, 98 is f:). so what i tried is creating a new folder in F:/WINDOWS/ which is 'Desktop' because setup isn't completely finished yet and adding the installer there. I started the computer in Safe Mode and it didn't appear. please help me. maybe i can install it to the 98 drive from xp? help!
