i have had 3 bsod so far this morning oe@0028:c29bfbc3,oe@0028:c1441c27 and a 06@0987:00000021. im am missing 7dll,14vxds and a386. i carefully copy down names and numbers and google,alta vista and microsoft them and answer comes back zilch. my 7 dlls are fwsvdn,savrtgui,setaid,sssensor,symneti and symedir(i got these from system file checker they had been delated) the 386is a symevent and the 14 vxds are hwinfod,msisys,symmdns,symfw,symids,symndis,symred rv,symtdi,teefer,wg3n,wg4n,wg5n,wg6n and spsdrv9. now i dont know a thing about dll,vxds or this computer and file checker listed more all of which had to do with norton av and symanted firewall that i uninstalled i knew those were missing and not needed,i hope.i live at microsoft trying to find some way to fix this thingmy windows98 cd is missing files,my browser doesnt seem to work(i even had it repaired hey im desperate) every page comes up cannot be displayed but i have my homepages on my desktop,and in favorites so i get around the net okay. but these dll,vxds bsods
and it starting in safe mode (i hit the reset and its ok) i sort of feel sorry for it it has had its disk partioned twice,fdisked, windows installed i cant remember how many times (I did none of thisby myself, i had tech help). and my browser crashed which lead to the fdisk and at least one windows install. this is a very confusing letter but it is very confusing. i dont know what to do first, where to start and am trying to put anything and everything that might help me get it working, i forgot the o/s is 98 av, spybot,stinger,adaware,zonealarm firewall
im on cable w/dial-up back-up . i run adaware, stinger, search and destory,clean disk, scan disk (not standard) and defrag weekly sometimes more if i have uninstalled a lot of stuff. the computer is old (99) but it really is a good computerand i sort of like it. but i am either going to have to get help getting it fixed and just put it out of its misery,so should i shoot this computer.:eek: :upset: :disgust: :( :cry:
