Hi I Need Major Help With My Compaq Presario 5240. I tryied Starting It But It Goes To A Blank Screen With A Flashing Bar In The Top Right Hand Corner.
I Have Tried Making A Windows 98 boot disk But It Does Not Do Anything.
I've Also Tried getting into the boot menu by holding Ctrl but nothing happens.
Please if anyone has any clue what i can do to fix this please let me Know.:mad:

Hello lilthug2005, welcome to CTH!

Sounds like you may have a bad memory chip, if you have more than one chip, try removing one, then the other to see if it boots. If so, you need to replace the memory chip.
