Green Screen

My son bought a used game. Echelon wind warriors - the game requires 400 MHz 3D accelerator card and so on that is not on his PC (gateway GP6-350). Now when we turn it on I can see the loading images and the desktop on startup but only for a split second. Then it goes to a green screen, even in safe mode. I have the mouse pointer but nothing to point to. I clicked the start button in that little time I saw it but it will not open the menu. I can see the set up screen if I use F1, I can see the info if I use the tab button but anything we try we end up at this green screen. Is there any way to uninstall this program that seems to be still trying to open or should we just forget it and trash the whole thing?
