Zipping Folders

Is there a way to zip folders instead of just all the files inside a folder? I was wanting to password protect a folder of mine and then I realized that the files could be accessed through the Search or something like that. Winzip won't add the folders in its archive, but I've seen this done before... Any suggestions?

Winzip does add the folders, but it saves it as data so you only get the tree back on extraction.

It depends on the program.
WinXP Windows Explorer will show the folders. In Winzip it shows the compressed files but when you extract it will restore the structure.
