Recycle Bin won't empty-Win98

On a win98 machine I started having a weird problem recently and can't seem to correct it. The problem is that the Recycle Bin icon always shows to have deleted files and when I try right mouse click and select empty recycle bin, nothing happens. When I open the recycle bin there doesn't appear to be any files in it. I have rebooted, tried changing the icon, refreshed the screen and nothing seems to work.

Any suggestions?

Thx,
Jose

Hi Jose,

Welcome to CyberTechHelp.

I am not an expert, but before someone else can help... (Usaully you don't have to wait long.)
I had a similar problem when I added a third party icon packager ie. (ObjectDesktop IconPackager) and tried to remove it later.

If you haven't tried yet, goto:

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display -> Effects Tab -> Click Recycle Bin (Empty) icon -> Default Icon

Personally, that didn't work for me so I ended up reinstalling the icon package program. Good luck.
