Quicken 2002 New User Edition - can't restore backup - help!!!!
I reformatted my hard drive, and beforehand, I backed up my quicken data to floppy disk, it took 2 floppys. Well, now everytime I try to restore the data, it acts like it's doing something, then after a few minutes, it says:
"unable to read the data on this disk. Try to find another backup to restore your quicken data. You may want to use the automatic backup in the QUICKEN/BACKUP directory." Of course, there is no quicken backup directory, since I just reformatted my hd. When I click on OK, it tells me that it cannot restore files from older versions of quicken, well, this is the only version I've ever used, it's the same version I made the backup files with ughhh. If I chat with Intiut live support, they will charge me $9.95, and then I don't know if I'm guaranteed a fix, so I hate to pay the money and not be guaranteed it'll get fixed. Anyone know what I can do? Thanks, Jamie |

try coping the files to a folder in your harddrive then try again.

I figured it out!! I had to do this:
Click on Start > Run, then type in command Then I had to type in Diskcopy a: a: I copied the Quicken floppys to another floppy, and it worked. Some of the files were bad, but I got almost all of my data restored to Quicken. I got this info from the Intuit support site. Jamie |
