Backup Files

I hope someone can help me open and restore a backup I made last Feb. of my system. Now that my computer has crashed I need to restore my backup. My file name is: Mybackup.qic

I can't find the association for .qic.

I backed up on a CD-R.

Hi bluebonnet, welcome to CTH!

.qic stands for Quarter Inch Cartridge, as in "tape-drive". It's a legit Windows backup extension, tho. (More info here).

What Operating System do you run?

zipulrich, I am using W98SE. I have a Compaq Mdl. 5716. Compaq has a Quick Restore Disk but I could not get it to work. I found out after many tries that the computer has to have all it's original parts for the QR to work. I had added memory and the DVD drive has been replaced. I was hoping that my backup disk would give me back all the drivers etc. But I can't get my back up to work either.

Any help is appreciated.
