Installing Anything!!!

ok, i'm working on a computer right now, i just put a fresh installation of Windows XP Pro w/ SP2 on it.. i've updated all the updates and everything. When i try to install Office 2003.. it gives me an error saying a file is corrupt. Well.. i took the SAME disk to another computer and it worked perfect.. error free. What could cause this??? the same with some other software i tried to install.. could it be a windows error? the computer has 2 cd-rom drives.. well one cd-rom, the other is dvd-rom. i tried both cd drives and i still get the same errors...

sorry annmarie.. i already formated the drive and i started over.. but that's the 3rd installation it's happend on! but i think i got it fixed this time. Sorry, but thanks.
