I have had occasions to send pictures to friends. These are most of the times obtained from MS Picture It. The extention on the files are .TIF or .MIX files. These take very long to send, but when I hear from my friend they are unable to open the file. What program can they use to open the file or how can I change the file exention before I send the pix?

Hi Bill,
Download Irfanview from here (http://www.irfanview.com/). When you open the photo you want to change in Irfanview and choose 'save as', it'll give you lots of options (as far as file extensions - .bmp, .jpg, etc.).
You can also resize the image, so its a lot smaller file to send/receive in e-mail. Plus there's tons of other things you can do to your image. And of course, its freeware :)
