Having recently spent hours bringing my computer back to life I would be greatful if you knowledgable ones out there would advise me of the best way to make a coppy of my hard disk and all its contents on a daily/weekly basis. I am now in possion of a sutable sized removable hard disk for this purpose.

Welcome :)

You could do it manually by copying your required files to a CD/DVD.
You can use dedicated backup programs to schedule backups. Maybe the best option.
Check your Burning program as some already have backup utilities. Nero does.

You could image your drive. This will take an exact image of the contents of the drive.

Hi...

At first I would also suggest Degs approach - I've backed up my entire system on cd's however this involved month to month back ups which eventually became frustrating - Eventually I installed a additional HHD - makes my lift much easier
