A another question

Do you believe we should do our own policing on the internet, or wait until all of our governments step in and start doing it for us.
Are you going to like it when they tell you where you can and cant go on the web?

All you can do is go where you want to go. The nature of the Internet does not lend itself to rules.

I think of it like this. There are a bunch of places in the real world that I know about, I just choose not to go there.

I feel stronly that people need to have the right to speak out in any way they want, even if it stupid and hate filled. I have the final choice weather or not I will click on or click off their site. I think by having the stupid hate sites on the net, you know out where they can be seen then you can do something about it. That does not mean close it down, it just means learning about it and then doing what you feel is right. Some will choose to start an anti-hate site, some will do nothing just ignore it. Either way I think it serves the public at large to have access to these stupid sites, if for no other reason to educate themselves as to not be "stupid" in the same way.

Remember knowledge is power.

I agree with your view in theory Tram but then i see a site like the one the other day and all i can think about is my son surfing the net and posting at sites like these.

Then i get my psycho cap on and decide to close the whole web down.

Ok so maybe i'm over protective but when it comes to my family.....well ya know what i mean.

To be quite honest i really don't know the answer to this one Iron except i can't see any reliable way to police the net no matter who does it.
