Hi,

You could try a System Restore to before the update.

You could try installing the program in Safemode.

You could try a System File Check by running SFC /SCANNOW

Hi,
sorry im late in replying back. I couldnt restore my computer to an earlier date because I had since turned it off and back on.
I also tried installing in safe mode but the same message appears.
I ran SFC and it scanned my computer but after the scan, nothing seem to happen, the scan finished and that was it. Where can i get the report, if there is one?

Hi,
Goto Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>
Make sure Show Updates is checked.

Scroll down to Windows XP - Software Updates
If Windows Media Player 10 is listed then choose to remove it and restore the previous version.
