How do I eliminate a macro

I have a file that doesn't seem to have any macros.
When I open it, a window pops up asking me if I would like to activate the macro.
I know that I can lower the protection, to avoid this pop up, but it annoys me that I can't eliminate this macro.
I am using Excel 2000.
