Norton Internet Security

How do I get rid of norton internet security but keep the norton antivirus package that comes with it. I notice that when you install you can install the whole package or internet security. I intend to replace it with Zone alarm.

Just disable Norton Firewall, and install Zone Alarm. That is exactly what I did and have had no conflicts. If you try to delete any bits of Nortons it can seriously screw your PC.
