I got an Epson Perfection 1650 Photo scanner and I like it a lot! I had to fool it to get it to scan slides though. Sometimes it doesn't recognize slides (in auto mode) but I discovered that if I leave one slot empty (on a 4 slide mask), it will see the "white light" and know that it is slides I am trying to scan. Thought I would pass on this tip.
